UHPNT is the central research site, but we have a fantastic team - led by Miss Charlie Hitchins - who will be delivering the study locally. Recruitment for the study will begin on the 2nd of October (Wednesday) and includes almost all planned and emergency patients undergoing surgery to remove their gallbladder (subject to certain criteria). The pilot study will run for six months, until the start of April, to test recruitment, processes and data collection tools.

As UHPNT is also the central research site, the qualitative (interview) study may also begin - and we've already had interest! If you are a patient who is due to have, or has had gallbladder surgery please get in touch. We also want to hear from involved healthcare professionals - including surgeons, pathologists, managers and policy makers.

We will update the website with dates as other reserach sites open,
